Our blog features helpful guides to getting started sorting out your first suit of armour. Read these in order to get a good indication, but as always, just speak to your fellow fighters for the best advice;

  • A cartoon illustration of a pink brain character pointed toward a fork in the road. The fork has two signs, one reading 'Adult Responsibilities' and the other 'Utter Nonsense.' The brain says, 'This way, Heart.' The scene includes armored helmets on stakes and a small red devil-like figure.

    Helmets

    The helmet is one of the most important pieces of kit that you will own, it directly protects your head and it affects your visibility.

  • A person dressed as a medieval knight wearing a shiny helmet, chainmail, a green and red tunic, and holding a sword, standing outdoors with a wooden structure and other fabric tents or banners in the background.

    Full Suits

    GS Studios are a popular option among BAC fighters. This is all the armour you will need other than a helmet, tabard, boots and belt. GS Studios provide you with a time slot and only take payment once they begin building.

  • Two men dressed as medieval knights in armor, wearing green and red tunics with a heraldic emblem, standing among an audience at a reenactment event.

    Tabards

    Tabards are the linen overcoats that fighters wear in the list when they are fighting. Each team will have their own tabard, in their team colours with their team heraldry.

  • Red dance sneaker with laces untied, worn with navy blue sock on beige carpet.

    Boots & Sabatons

    Boots are one of the first pieces of kit you will want to buy. They are made custom to your foot size, and can be made with sabatons. Boots made by Medieval Extreme are a popular choice within the club.
